Apex Systems, the nation’s 2nd largest Information Technology staffing firm, has multiple openings for an SDET to join an enterprise entertainment and hospitality company in Seattle, WA. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the opportunity to go full-time for the right candidate. The client offers a variety of perks, including a flexible schedule, part-time remote capabilities, and the opportunity to work with the newest technologies. This SDET will be joining an existing team but will need to be able to work on his/her own and take ownership of the project.

Applicants must have 5+ years of experience working as an SDET, specifically with Java, TestNG, and automated API and UI testing . Position: SDET

# of Openings: 2 (1 full-stack, 1 UI)

Duration: 12 – 18 month contract

Available Locations: Celebration, FL OR Seattle, WA

Description: As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be focused on testing cutting edge systems and services. You will partner with an innovative agile team of developers and system engineers to create and manage test cases and test automation for several web services. Responsibilities include designing, building and maintaining intelligent test systems that can validate service integrity and solution consistency. The primary focus for this position will be the creation and management of tests and test suite automation that exercise extensive use cases and validation scenarios for Enterprise Technology services. CICD test integration and test analytics that inform the next generation of the services are organizational strategies.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager of QA, you will work closely with software architects/developers, existing QA team, and product management in all phases of the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities will also include:

  • Test strategy development
  • API / UI testing
  • Requirements and Functional Specifications review
  • Test environment configuration/management
  • Test automation
  • Some troubleshooting
  • Inspecting existing tests, finding gaps in test coverage and then building out a roadmap for execution


Required Experience:

Full Stack SDET

  • 4+ years strong experience writing automated tests using JUnit 4 or TestNG
  • 4+ years strong Java skills (Java 7 preferred, Java 8 a bonus)
  • Familiar with standard Java/OO design patterns
  • Practical experience testing/exercising REST APIs - JSON preferred
  • Practical experience writing multi-threaded tests
  • Practical experience working with NoSQL databases -- Mongo and Dynamo preferred

UI SDET

  • 5+ years of test automation experience
  • UI test automation
  • Selenium WebDriver
  • Java scripting
  • TestNG framework

Preferred Experience:

  • Full stack experience – Rest API AND UI testing
  • Saucelabs - multi browser testing tool
  • Angular - front end is written in Angular, candidates should have a working understanding so they can help troubleshoot and test UI
