Job Description

We are currently seeking a Printing & Graphics Specialist to join our Packaging Design & Innovation Department in Richmond, VA to assist in the development and execution of printed packaging materials. The successful candidate will work with Brand Management, Design Agencies, and our printed packaging suppliers to develop materials to be used in our Operating Companies’ manufacturing operations.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Effective collaboration with Brand Management and Design Agencies during the design process to develop innovative packaging and implementation plans that ensure high quality and cost effective printability and manufacturability of printed packaging materials
  • Participation with cross functional groups to ensure new packaging meets product and manufacturing specifications as well as consumer functionality expectations
  • Developing and directing packaging execution plans from concept development through implementation in the factory
  • Using project management skills and tools to manage development processes, budgets and timelines
  • Continuous monitoring of projects and to engage and inform stakeholders regarding project status and recommending course corrections as needed  
  • Ensuring all Financial and Compliance requirements are met during the course of packaging development


Specific Skills


Qualifications Include:
• Bachelors of Science or Fine Arts in a job-related related discipline, preferably in Printing or Graphic Communications
• 0-5 years’ professional experience in roles that apply printing technologies and print management expertise
• Knowledge of translating raw art into printed packaging, applying printing knowledge to devise creative solutions, color matching, and final approval of packaging items on press
• Familiarity with offset, gravure and flexographic printing technologies
• Ability to influence others without authority
• Capability to work collaboratively with cross functional partners and suppliers
• Self-motivation and direction, high initiative and flexibility
• Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, SAP, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Capability to effectively present and communicate complex technical information to cross functional groups and management
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally to support business objectives
