Job Description
CVS is seeking an experienced Merchandising Analyst to join the Assortment Center of Excellence which is tasked with developing, implementing, and enhancing an industry-leading assortment optimization tool and process. In this role, the Merchandising Analyst will leverage best-in-class transferable demand tools as part of category strategies covering shopper insights, assortment, price, promotion, and vendor negotiation plans. This role partners with a cross-functional category team providing direction, insights, and analytics to drive financial growth across product assortment and store groups.

This role provides excellent exposure to multiple businesses, Category Managers, and leaders across the organization. You will need to be passionate about looking at assortment performance metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Your key job responsibilities include:
- Leveraging best-in-class assortment tools to identify opportunities for growth

- Developing subject matter expertise on an Assortment Advisor tool

- Building and maintaining Customer Decision Trees for assigned categories to support strategic discussions

- Collaborating with Category Management team to review category performance, identify assortment opportunities, and ensure category and store growth

- Collaborating with Category Management and Visual Merchandisers to identify assortment opportunities at the store group level and help drive execution across the stores

Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience at a leading retailer or packaged goods company, leading category management/assortment projects with significant business impact, OR equivalent consulting experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting analysis leveraging large databases. Passion for the details and insights of the data. Mastery of Microsoft Excel is critical to this role

- Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing, via Microsoft PowerPoint to all levels of the organization

- Understanding of assortment concepts including substitutes, complements, and demand transfer

- Demonstrated ability to influence across all levels of the organization, from working teams to senior leadership

- Ability to generate actionable insights
