Boston Conservatory at Berklee Theater Division is seeking a full-time dance faculty member to teach studio-based performance classes in both the B.F.A. and M.F.A. Musical Theater programs. Areas of interest and expertise may include urban dance, hip-hop, modern, ballet, African, Afro-jazz, jazz, improvisation, swing, Salsa; and the redefinition of race and/or gender in the dance/musical theater repertoire. This is a 9-month full-time faculty position with renewable contract; initial appointment to begin September 1, 2021. Compensation and rank are commensurate with education and professional experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have a history of helping students achieve a significant level of mastery and will be committed to establishing a forward-thinking pedagogy for diverse, multi-genre performers. Faculty are expected to participate in teaching, professional and artistic service, and service to the institution, as well as participation in the life of the Theater Division.
Qualifications:
Dedication to innovation in musical theater regarding expressions of racial, gender, ethnic, and sexual identity
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in dance or equivalent (Masters preferred)
Minimum 5 years professional performance or choreographing in the theater field (New York, Broadway or LORT regional theater or dance experience a plus)
At least 2 years teaching experience in higher education setting
Comprehensive knowledge of theater or dance repertoire and performance history, and specific knowledge of various training styles preferred.
Experience designing and developing curriculum preferred
