Digital - Senior Product Manager – Messaging and Collaboration

Role/Department Description:

The financial industry has many cross-company workflows and is always looking for more efficient ways to do business. At the same time, it is also one of the most regulated industries and their online collaboration solutions needs to be highly customizable and secure while also allowing their users to be efficient and use the standard tools and applications for market data, portfolio analytics, trading, crm, etc. As a technology pioneer, FactSet works with leaders in the messaging and collaboration industries like Microsoft, Symphony and Slack, to use innovative and clever solutions to integrate our products. This allows clients to maintain administrative control over their users, while at the same time allowing them to be efficient by seamlessly switching to FactSet applications when needed and share data with the people they work with.

The FactSet Platform Team is looking for a passionate individual to join us as Senior Product Manager. This role will involve close collaboration with senior leaders in other teams at FactSet as well as product teams at our partners. On a more daily basis, you will be writing user stories and gathering requirements, working with a dedicated engineering team as well as other product managers and individual salespersons on client demos and visits.

Additionally, over time you will find opportunities to have broad impact across FactSet and the industry as a whole by contributing to various initiatives and attending and speaking at meetups and conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a prioritized list of projects and reviewing it with the team
  • Communicating needs to Engineering and vendors through detailed specifications and interface mock-ups
  • Establishing working relationships with vendor product and engineering teams
  • Partnering with Application Design to define final interface designs
  • Working with Knowledge Management/Marketing on external documentation
  • Coordinating with the QA department in the creation of test plans
  • Testing pre-release software
  • Gathering feedback/needs/suggestions from both clients and consultants
  • Analyzing usage information for trends & areas of improvement
  • Providing first-line support for issue and question resolution

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent experience 
  • Experience with instant messaging solutions, technologies and regulations such as Slack, Microsoft Teams or Symphony
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience working professionally as a product developer/manager in a relevant, high-paced industry
  • Experience with Scrum, Kanban or Agile software development in general
  • Highly creative, with a strong sense of initiative and enthusiasm
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a commitment to the timely completion of tasks
  • Ability to lead and influence across all levels of the organization

Highly Desired:

  • Artistic ability with an attention to detail
  • Experience with open source and GitHub
  • Knowledge of/strong interest in online technologies and trends
  • Experience integrating financial and market data into other platforms or tools
